Sandra Lackey (Coleman)

COCHRANTON — Sandra (Sandy) H. Coleman, 72, of Cochranton died Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Meadville Medical Center.

Born Aug. 5, 1942, in Meadville, she was a daughter of Elmer and Virginia Sparrow Lackey. She married William Coleman Sr. on June 8, 1963, and he survives.

 

Sandy graduated from Meadville High School in 1960 and she worked at the Cochranton Elementary School cafeteria and also worked for more than 30 years at Meadville Kmart, where she retired in 2010.

She was a member of Sheakleyville United Methodist Church, enjoyed reading, scrapbooking but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to her husband of 51 years, include two daughters, Sheila Scofield and her husband, Ronald, of Sheakleyville and Cheryl Foeks and her husband, Leland II (Chip), of Dover, and a son, William Coleman Jr. of Cochranton; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Scofield, Victoria Foeks, Danielle Foeks, Tiffany Stainbrook and her husband, Kent, Clairee Shaw and her husband, Todd, William Coleman III and Aaron Coleman; a great-granddaughter, Elliette Shaw; a sister, Ann Williams and her husband, Michael, of North East; two brothers, Pastor Hugh Lackey and his wife, Beth, of Poinciana, Fla., and Jack Lackey and his wife, Darla, of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother. Thomas A. Lackey.

Friends will be received at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday from the funeral home, with the Rev. Russell Hines of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ officiating.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

The family asks that memorials be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
